Welcome!


Here is information about St. Mary’s RE programs which will be beginning soon! When the registration sites for each program go live online links will be posted here, but if you don’t see registration links, you can email Rusty at rbang@stmarysboise.org with your name, phone number, email, and programs that you are interested in, you will be sent an email when those registration pages are live!

Becoming Catholic for Adults (also known as Order of Christian Initiation for Adults/OCIA):


START DATE:  TBD

Class Time:  Mondays at 7:00pm

Location: St. Mary's Parish Office


We are preparing our OCIA program for this year, which will be presented by a team led by Deacon Gene Fadness! If you need to receive baptism, first communion, or confirmation or know anyone who wants to join the Catholic church please contact Deacon Gene via email at genefadness@gmail.com or Rusty at the parish office at 208-344-2597x207!

 


Becoming Catholic for Children and Families (also known as Order of Christian Initiation for Children/OCIC):


START DATE: Sunday, September 15th (Sunday, January 12th for Spring Semester)

Class Time: 9:00am - 10:30am


We will gather in St. Mary’s School Gym on Sundays to prepare Children and Families who want to become Catholic to be fully initiated and receive Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. OCIC also helps Catholics who may have missed receiving their sacraments at the ordinary time can also prepare for them! Participants will be fully initiated into the church at the Easter Vigil Mass!

Confirmation Preparation:

Class Time: Sundays, 2:30pm - 4:00pm

Whole Family Religious Education:


START DATE: TBD

Whole Family Religious Education is for everyone! People that this is for include St. Mary’s School Families, St. Mary’s Families with kids in public school, homeschool families and people of all ages – meaning older adults, younger adults, high schoolers, middle schoolers, elementary schoolers, too young for schoolers, everyone!


We are adapting our Whole Family Religious Education Program from last year’s program, and want to invite ALL families to come and join us! As more parts of our community plans are organized please pay attention to this area for updates! If you have any questions please get a hold of Rusty!


We have Acts of the Apostles chapter two in mind as we plan, if you would like to read and pray that chapter of scripture with us!

First Communion Preparation:


START DATE:  Sunday, September 15th

Class Time: 9:35am - 10:35am

Location: St. Mary's School


To prepare for First Communion, youth from 2 nd -4 th grades can come to Sunday sessions each Sunday in between the two morning Masses. This means that families can attend Mass before or after first communion classes! Youth will learn Catholic prayers, practices, and be prepared to receive the sacraments of both Reconciliation and Eucharist. They will make their first confession during the year of preparation and receive First Communion at the celebration of a Mass just for them in May of the school year when they’ve begun to prepare in September.

These programs (especially Whole Family Religious Ed) will need teams to help foster a vibrant community. If you are interested in serving the St. Mary’s Community, please let Rusty know!
